Business Idea

My Idea

I have decided to choose an up-cycled jewellery craft workshop and shop as my business as it is fairly unique and quirky and offers teaching of new skills.
The shop would be best situated in the south side of Glasgow, around Shawlands, as this is an up and coming trendy area with lots of new bars, shops and cafe's opening. It is also a fairly cheap place compared to the city centre and the west end but has equal foot traffic. The brand aims to draw attention to the environment by recycling and up-cycling old / broken / unused items that are found or donated, such as; glass bottles, broken plates, old photos, newspapers, moulded metal etc. and also wants to offer a unique and personalised touch by using it's workshops to teach people of all ages how to create their own pieces out of their own materials. This upcycled item concept could also translate into the jewellery's packaging, the shop's business cards and also the signage and interiors. The business would make it's money out of entry fees to the workshops as well as the jewellery items they sell. Coffee and snacks could also be sold.
The target audience is from young to old and both male and female. It focuses on people who are interested in learning new skills as well as being creative and creating something new.
